Sadie Grace, daughter of Christina Applegate, revealed her diagnosis of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) on her mom's MeSsy podcast.
POTS affects about 1 to 3 million people in the United States, causing symptoms like fatigue, dizziness, and a fast heart rate.
Sadie shared that she often felt like she was going to pass out and went unconscious due to POTS.
She recalled visiting the nurse multiple times a day in sixth grade but her symptoms were attributed to anxiety.
Despite the challenges, Christina Applegate praised Sadie for openly sharing her condition and bringing awareness to POTS.
POTS isn't life-threatening but can greatly interfere with daily life, managed with medications and lifestyle changes.
“I hate it for you, my darling. I really hate it for you,” the actress said. “I’m sad. But I love you, and I know you’re going to be OK."
The teenager also spoke about what it’s like living with a mother who has multiple sclerosis.
Despite the difficulties, Applegate and Sadie share a strong bond, supporting each other through their health challenges.
